How much Foreign Exchange is Available for a Business Trip?


The Government of India, through the Reserve Bank of India has regulations with respect to foreign currency for all travelers going out of India. These regulations framed by the Government of India are applicable for Indians travelling abroad for the purpose of recreation, medical treatment, business, and education. The regulation states that, following the submission of the required documentation, Authorized Forex dealers can release USD 25,000 for a foreign business trip.


      Limit for Forex


For foreign business travel, you can buy up-to USD 25,000 from online Forex exchange. You can buy the equivalent of this amount in any other international currency for the same purpose. However, this condition is not valid for business travel to Bhutan or Nepal.
You can buy foreign exchange for your business within the maximum available limit for any business trip. The limit on the foreign exchange currency is not conditional to the duration of your stay in the foreign country or the place of stay (other than Bhutan and Nepal).
